Our Work for Children in Fiji

When Cyclone Winston, a Category 5 storm hit Fiji, our emergency responders were there to help. Entire villages were flattened by this mega storm, forcing thousands of Fijians to seek shelter in evacuation centers. Save the Children was there to prioritize the well-being of children, by setting up child-friendly spaces in those evacuation centers. This provided children a safe place to engage in educational play with other children, while offering parents a much-needed opportunity to assess the damage to their homes. Our generous donors provided support for emergency supplies like school bags and classroom kits to help children return to school as quickly as possible.
