Colleges

Engage your College Community on Campus or Online

College and universities all over the world make a difference in the lives of children simply by participating in one of the following and sending the proceeds to Save the Children. Get involved on your campus: learn how to host an event on your campus or start a Save the Children Campus Club. Download the College Fundraising Toolkit.

  • Concerts: Host a battle of the bands, but make sure to think about venue, sound equipment, band choice, length of concert, ticket sales, publicity and contacting your student events coordinator.
  • Athons: Choose from a Walk-athon, a Jog-athon, a Dance-athon, a Bowl-athon or any other kind of Blank-athon. Make sure to think about publicity, venue, refreshments, sign-up procedures and contacting your student events coordinator or local officials if using public areas (road, sports track, etc). View our Blank-athon Campaign page
  • Sports Events: Use competition between intramurals or donations at sporting events to raise money for Save the Children. Consider using preexisting sporting events and incorporating the Greek System into those events. Make sure to contact your student events coordinator and the presidents of other large clubs on campus.
  • Swipe-fest: Donate meal swipes or campus card money toward Save the Children. Designate a time when students can donate meals and advertise and publicize in advance.
  • Penny Wars: Collect as many pennies and other change throughout dorms and other campus housing. Choose signup procedure and advertise to campus clubs, residence life and Greek life. Clearly explain goals and contact your dining hall coordinator and student events coordinator.
  • Letter Writing Campaign: Compile list of friends and family to ask for donations or participation in an advocacy effort. Enlist friends to help out with the letter writing.
