Supporting Rural Kids for a Brighter Learning Future

For over 90 years, Save the Children has worked to make sure all children in rural America thrive as learners and in life. Since 1932, we’ve gone where others cannot, filling critical gaps in services and delivering scalable, evidence‑based solutions.

In 2025, we reached 720,259 children across 20 states. We also helped vulnerable communities recover after major U.S. disasters, reaching 133,524 people with essential items, cash assistance and other recovery support.

Help close the education gap for children in rural America. Donate today and be part of the solution.

How We’re Tackling Barriers to Education in Rural Areas

From early education to emergency relief, Save the Children is dedicated to ensuring every child in the United States has the opportunity to grow up healthy, educated, and safe. Our work is rooted in rural communities where support is needed most and focused on the four areas below, including:

Education

Save the Children partners with parents, educators, and communities across 14 states to provide early education, home visits and school-age programs that prepare children to succeed in reading, math and life—helping thousands in rural America overcome poverty through education.
