The family of Serjmaa, 34, and Bat-Ochir, 34, lives in Uvs province with their five children, four girls and a boy.
Their eldest, Nomuun, 13, attends school in the morning, while Namuutsetseg, 11, and
Nasanbat, 9, attend the afternoon shift of the local school.
The family received cash assistance and livestock fodder to help overcome
the hardships of Dzud. Bat-Ochir said he bought study supplies and clothes for his children, food for the family and used the rest to buy bales of hay for his prized horses with the monetary assistance.
