Guled

At just 10 months old, Guled* was diagnosed with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), a potentially deadly condition that affects nearly 13 million children worldwide. His mother was able to bring him to a Save the Children health facility for treatment, and their family still receives lifesaving support from our teams 5 years later.

Layan

13-year-old Layan* in Lebanon was forced to flee home with her family, leaving behind almost everything she knew. They now live in a shelter for displaced people, where Save the Children has established a child-friendly space for kids like Layan, her siblings and cousins to have a safe space to express themselves, cope with trauma and try to just be a kid again.

Layan dreams of a day that she can return to her home and find peace: “Home is safety, relief and everything.”

Zoey

Zoey was diagnosed with physical disabilities as a baby, and didn’t show the same development as girls her age. By the age of 3, Zoey had started preschool and was able to enroll in a Save the Children Head Start program, where she could receive specialized physical and teaching support.

Today, she’s growing into a healthy, brave and social little girl.
