How to Donate to Charity Through Amazon Alexa this Holiday Season:

Written by Dawn Nunn, Director, Gift in Kind

During emergencies like the COVID-19 pandemic, Amazon’s pioneering spirit has helped Save the Children keep America’s most vulnerable children healthy, learning and safe. With Amazon Alexa’s functionality now supporting nonprofit causes, you have the option to donate items and Christmas gifts that children need from the comfort of your home.

After saying “Alexa, donate to Save the Children” there will now be two donation options: either money through Amazon Pay or choosing an item from the Save the Children Wish List. Choosing to purchase a Wish List item as a charity Christmas gift for kids in need is an easy way to make a holiday donation and help get essential items such as meals, books, educational toys and hygiene products to children in the U.S. this holiday season who are growing up with limited resources in rural pockets of poverty.

“Now that Alexa offers both financial and product donations, supporters can literally use their voices to help even more children in need by donating through a fast, easy and contactless way,” stated Ettore Rossetti, Sr. Advisor of Social Strategy & Digital Innovation. In addition to Amazon Smile and Amazon Pay, Amazon Alexa is yet another easy way to donate to charity this holiday season.
