Danita Ostling is a partner and the Professional Practice Director for Ernst & Young’s US-East Region. Based in the New York office, Danita is a member of EY’s National Professional Practice Group and is responsible for consultations on accounting and auditing matters as well as risk management for the assurance practice in the East Region. She also is a member of EY’s Americas Accounting and Auditing Committee.
Previously, Danita was the Americas IFRS Technical Leader and a co-director of EY’s Assurance Professional Practice – Accounting where she led the Business Combinations/Consolidation team. As the IFRS leader, she was responsible for coordinating the firm’s IFRS accounting guidance and consultative services within the Americas practice and served as a member of the firm’s Global IFRS Policy Committee. She also previously served as a member of the AICPA’s Financial Reporting Executive Committee, the IFRS Advisory Council and the IMA’s Financial Reporting Committee.
Prior to her appointment as Americas IFRS Leader, Danita served eight years in London as the Deputy Director of Ernst & Young’s Global Assurance Professional Practice. From 1993 to 1999, Danita was a vice president in the Corporate Accounting Policy and Advisory Group of Citigroup, and before joining Citigroup she was a project manager at the Financial Accounting Standards Board. Prior to that, Danita was a senior manager in Ernst & Young’s National Accounting Services department in New York and an audit manager in the Dallas office of Ernst & Young.
Danita earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1981. She is a certified public accountant in the states of New York and Texas.
She joined the Board in 2020 and serves on the Audit & Risk Committee.
