Vice President, U.S. Programs
Betsy Zorio is Vice President of U.S. Programs at Save the Children, where she leads the agency's efforts to drive kindergarten readiness and grade-level proficiency in literacy and math in more than 200 rural communities across the United States. She also leads the organization’s domestic emergency response, recovery and resiliency programs and serves as Secretary of the agency's political action arm, Save the Children Action Network (SCAN). Betsy has been with Save the Children since 2006 and with SCAN since its inception in 2014. In 2020, she became executive sponsor of Save the Children’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council.
Prior to joining Save the Children, Betsy worked at Special Olympics, most recently as Manager of Donor Relations. She previously worked as Volunteer Manager at Best Buddies. Betsy is a native of the Washington, D.C. area and holds a bachelor's degree in government and politics from George Mason University, where she managed the school’s Best Buddies chapter for three years.
