
Anya Salama
Anya Salama is a philanthropist and the co-Founder of Salus Aid Foundation, which she established with her husband, Albert, to address food and nutrition needs in global humanitarian emergencies. She also serves as co-Chair of 100 Strong, Save the Children’s Women Philanthropic Leadership Network. Created by women for women, 100 Strong is a movement at the forefront of reimagining the future of philanthropy to address the big challenges facing the world’s children.
Previously, Anya served on the Corporation Board Executive Committee of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution —the largest independent global research organization focused on ocean studies— beginning in 2018. Since 2019, she has also been on the Board of Directors of PEN America, where she co-chairs the annual PEN Gala, advocating for free expression globally and honoring prominent literary voices. Before her philanthropic work, Anya held leadership roles in the interior design industry as President of China Seas and U.S. Publisher of The World of Interiors magazine.
She holds a bachelor's degree from Sarah Lawrence College and a master's in humanitarian health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
