World Food Day is October 16, and children of the world are without food. The reasons “why” vary from droughts that decimate crops and kill livestock, to conflict and violence that forces people to leave their countries. From natural disasters that destroy homes and businesses, to rural communities living in poverty. The causes are many, the consequences are the same – children around the world and here in the U.S. are hungry.

- Girls are 2x more likely to die from malnutrition.
- 156 million children under 5 have stunted growth from malnutrition.

Conflict and the worst drought in 70 years has left 20 million people in Somalia, South Sudan, Yemen and northeast Nigeria in urgent need of food and water.
