Your Monthly Support Can Be Adjusted

We understand that sometimes people's financial situation changes. Before you cancel your support, consider adjusting it. You can change the frequency from monthly to quarterly — or even annual giving. You can pause your gift for a few months, or you can reduce your monthly giving amount to something that fits with your budget better. In fact, our new monthly giving program Team Tomorrow provides you the option to continue giving but at a lower amount. Instead of hearing about the child you sponsor, you'll learn about the issues that impact children — inequality, poverty in the U.S., the climate crisis and conflict. 

Long-Term Support is Key to Communities

Save the Children's programs are structured with growth in mind — the growth of the child and the growth of the community. That's why we encourage donors to view their support as a long-term commitment. When you make a long-term commitment, we're able to make long-term commitments with community partners and work with them to deliver successful programs that achieve lasting results for children. And when our teams do transition out of an area, we ensure the community is self-sufficient and can continue the programs we started together without us. This allows us to help children in other communities while ensuring the successes we achieved will continue.

Your commitment to a recurring gift ensures that Save the Children can act quickly when an emergency strikes. Thanks to your support, we’re transforming the way emergency care is delivered, putting a world-class team of health professionals to work for children in crisis within 72 hours.

But we can’t do this without your continued support.

What Happens to the Child I Sponsor If I Need to Cancel My Support?

While some children only have one sponsor, we are transitioning to a model where we match one child with multiple sponsors and combine your contributions with those of other supporters— rather than giving them directly to the child you sponsor. This allows us to efficiently and effectively distribute resources to the children and communities we work with in the U.S. and around the world. This model ensures that even more children and communities benefit from your generosity and have access to stable funding, long-term support and high quality programs.  

If you are the only sponsor for the child that you are matched with and you decide to cancel your sponsorship support, we will do our best to match the child you sponsor with a new sponsor; however, it may take time and there is no guarantee that this will happen.
