Protect Children Like Weam* from the Violence of War
At 8 years old, Weam and his family were forced to flee their home in Syria amidst the chaos of war, seeking refuge in a tented camp. Tragically, Weam's father lost his life while looking for work. This loss – along with the trauma of war, and uncertainty – has taken a toll on young Weam, leading to severe mental health struggles.
Save the Children works with local communities to help children like Weam who are living in conflict zones, providing mental health support, so they can begin to heal from the emotional and physical wounds of war.

With unwavering determination, 14-year-old Nisha from Nepal declares, "We are stopping child marriage. It has to stop completely."
As a member of a Save the Children-supported 'Child Club', Nisha has played a pivotal role in reducing child marriage rates in her community. Her efforts have helped prevent four child marriages so far, with Nisha quick to alert local authorities for intervention when necessary.

Help Youth Like Junior Thrive Amidst the Climate Crisis
In the Solomon Islands, 16-year-old Junior and his four younger siblings face the harsh realities of climate change head-on. Their community is one of the world’s most vulnerable to the impacts of extreme weather, grappling with rising sea levels and increasingly violent storms. These disasters are destroying homes and decimating crucial crops essential to their survival.
Junior's poignant words reflect the dire circumstances: "Sometimes I feel sick because I have nothing to eat, because the rising sea level has damaged our food. I feel angry and sad."
As today’s children experience more and more extreme climate events in their lifetimes, Save the Children is working in the U.S. and around the world to help communities prevent, prepare for, and recover from climate-related disasters.

Ensure Elsa Receives the Education She Deserves
Two-year-old Elsa engages in playtime with toys provided by Save the Children. She’s been enrolled in the Early Steps to School Success program in West Virginia since she was just 5 months old. Despite facing challenges, Elsa is making remarkable progress with the support of our program.
Our Early Steps to School Success initiative provides tailored learning opportunities to foster positive social, emotional, and cognitive development, helping young children like Elsa get ready for kindergarten. With the guidance of occupational therapists and our dedicated team of experts, she’s been achieving new developmental milestones and is beginning to form full sentences!
Programs like Early Steps to School Success give kids like Elsa the education and support they need to thrive, while empowering families to build connections within their communities and actively engage in their children's development.
