Brightly Storytime – Read Aloud Picture Books for Kids!
American Girl has a long-standing commitment to helping children and families in need. Since 2010, Save the Children and American Girl have partnered to enrich learning for kids in rural America, ensuring children have access to age-appropriate reading materials. Through generous annual book donations currently totaling over $8 million to Save the Children’s literacy programs, American Girl helps Save the Children develop students’ reading skills and provide them with the guidance and support they need to grow as readers.
Chevron is proud to support Save the Children’s early education work by supporting two Save the Children SummerBoost Camps this year in Houston, to curb children’s summer learning loss while providing them with a safe place to participate in enriching learning activities, develop their community involvement and service skills and learn about STEM and healthy eating, among other curricula. Chevron and Save the Children also partnered in Houston to provide psychosocial support to 50,000 children affected by Hurricane Harvey in 2017, though Journey of Hope. This program draws on children’s strengths to support their resilience, while helping them understand their feelings and is also designed to build the resiliency of caregivers, giving them an outlet to process their emotions.

The I Can Read! and HarperCollins Children’s books team is proud to partner with and donate books to Save the Children to help introduce the world of reading to children across America through early childhood education and school-aged literacy programs. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is dedicated to improving outcomes for learners everywhere. Through book donations, HMH supports Save the Children’s early childhood education and school-aged literacy programs throughout rural America, where children are at risk of missing out on education due to high levels of poverty. In addition, HMH supports Save the Children’s emergency recovery efforts, helping communities rebuild after natural disasters. Since 2005, Mattel Children’s Foundation and Save the Children have worked to improve the lives of children in some of the most underserved communities in the world. PNC Grow Up Great® is a $500 million, multi-year, bilingual initiative that began in 2004 to help prepare children – particularly underserved children – from birth to age 5 for success in school and life. Through the program, PNC emphasizes the importance of the first five years of life, which research has shown is critical to long-term achievement, and provides innovative opportunities that assist families, educators and community partners to enhance children’s learning and development. An investment in pre-K students makes good economic sense and plants the seeds for the dynamic workforce of tomorrow.
The initiative goes beyond the classroom, supporting learning and social-emotional development of children at home and across communities by also providing free resources and tools to parents, guardians, caregivers and neighborhood organizations. At the core of the Grow Up Great program are several established and long-standing partnerships with early childhood experts like Sesame Workshop, National Head Start Association, Fred Rogers Productions, and National Center for Families Learning. Like all of our partners, PNC believes access to high-quality early childhood education and resources is critical.
Highlights of PNC Grow Up Great's impact over the last 15 years include:

- Donated employee time, skills and expertise in support of the mission. Through Grow Up Great, PNC employees have contributed more than 850,000 volunteer hours and 1.2 million items for use in classrooms and the personal well-being of young children.
