Unlocking the Secrets to Success

Amber, a young mother of three, is raising her children in poverty-stricken West Virginia. In their isolated rural town, opportunities for success can be hard to come by. Despite having the odds stacked against them, Amber strives to give her children the best chance for success.

Save the Children empowers families like Amber’s to break the cycle of poverty by equipping low-income children all across America with life and school-readiness skills early on through home and school-based programs.

The Early Steps to School Success program introduced Amber to Miss Jackie, a home worker who teaches invaluable language and social lessons. This program builds a foundation of skills and learning that better prepares kids growing up in isolated communities to start school.

Children equipped with knowledge and self-confidence in their homes are more likely to thrive in school, graduate and lift themselves out of poverty. To give these children a fair chance, we need your help.
