Through sponsorship, Save the Children works to ignite a passion for learning in children. It certainly did for Miracle.

Meet Miracle

Thanks to compassionate sponsors like you, Miracle has been able to explore her love of learning, and was inspired to write a very special poem – see below.

Miracle has a name that reflects her shining spirit. As a sponsored child from South Carolina, Miracle benefits from our after-school literacy program and SummerBoost Camp. “Reading and writing have always been something she adores,” says Miracle’s aunt. “But since Miracle’s participation in the Save the Children program, her love for reading and writing has noticeably increased!” What’s more, she shares her poetry at school and at church every fifth Sunday.

As Miracle so eloquently writes, girls matter. And to girls like Miracle all around the world, sponsors like you truly matter, too.

Girls of The World

To the girls of the world, you matter
Every step you take matters.
You should shine from your heart all the way through.
Be the loving person you are.
Remember, together we can be an influence on our generation.
So let’s stand and follow through to the end.
We can make the world a better place, because we are the future.
We can be the change that impacts the world in a great way.
Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you are not special.
You have your own unique way.
Always know your sun will shine.
Go the extra mile to succeed, fight to the end.
Share your desire. Bring out your determination.
You have the will inside of you.
So again I say, girls of the world, you matter, always and forever.
