The Impact of Your Partnership
We have more than 1 billion reasons to celebrate this year! That’s how many children’s lives we’ve changed since our founding 100 years ago – all thanks to valued partners like you. As our centennial comes to a close, we continue to do whatever it takes, every day and in times of crisis. Together, we’re creating impact for children that ripples throughout their lives, their families and communities – ultimately transforming the future we all share.
Our People Make all the Difference

A HEALTHY START
Saving Newborn Lives
Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) helps ensure better outcomes for vulnerable preterm babies, no matter where they live. KMC is one way we make sure babies get the strongest start possible during the critical first 1,000 days of life.
the opportunity to learn
Returning Refugee Children to Learning
More than half of all refugee children – 4 million – are not in school. Return to Learning, developed with seed funding in recognition of our centennial, aims to provide uninterrupted learning for displaced girls and boys.
Early Steps to School Success
By age 4, children from low-income families are up to 18 months developmentally behind their wealthier peers. We developed Early Steps to School Success to change that through home visits, book exchanges, parenting groups and an emphasis on transition to school.
PROTECTION FROM HARM
Family Care First in Cambodia
Through programs like Family Care First in Cambodia, you help us strengthen families struggling with crises, so they can care for children and not resort to placing them in an institution. We also support family-based alternative care when children can’t stay with their biological families.
Providing Refuge for Children at the U.S. Border
In New Mexico, we support the needs of migrant families seeking asylum after their release from U.S. custody. We focus on children’s material and emotional well-being and support local partner organizations. Together we ensure girls and boys have a safe place to land as parents plan the next stage of their journey to reach sponsor families.
Positive Parenting in Latin America
Children in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras face violence in their everyday lives. Reducing violence in the home and at school is one way we address the causes of migration from these countries. Together we help parents follow “positive discipline” practices creating loving, respectful and non-violent homes.
In times of crisis
Saluting Women on the Frontline
Sarah and Megan are two women on the frontlines making sure our Emergency Health Unit teams deliver high-quality care during crises. In Mozambique, Sarah treated disease, dehydration and HIV in the wake of Cyclone Idai, while Megan helped establish our sexual and reproductive health clinic for Venezuelan refugees in Colombia.
breakthroughs for children
Better Careers Through Extended Reality (BecaXR)
Helping youth visualize – and prepare for – better careers is a key part of our livelihoods programming. Created in partnership with Accenture, BecaXR uses immersive virtual reality to allow young job seekers to envision new careers. Nearly 90,000 youth in more than 10 countries have been helped so far.
Pocket-Sized Innovation, Giant Impact
Save the Children partnered with a network of other child protection organizations to launch an app that makes it easier for families to reunite after they are separated by conflict, like so many in South Sudan. Together, we make the impossible possible, reuniting children with their families.
