BVLGARI North America and Save the Children Celebrate World Children’s Day with 'World of Wonder’ Digital Art Collage Project and Fundraiser for Kids

Through Arte di Bvlgari Program, 1,200 Elementary School Children Share Their Artistic Visions for a ‘World of Wonder’

New York, NY (November 20, 2022) – In celebration of World Children’s Day on Nov. 20, Bulgari North America and Save the Children engaged more than 1,200 children in a “World of Wonder” art project, capturing their unique visions of the world on canvas and incorporating a wide variety of those watercolor visions into digital art collages designed by artist Helena Soubeyrand. As part of the celebration, Bulgari North America will also be donating a portion of its World Children’s Day sales to support future arts programming for children in need.

The “Worlds of Wonder” art project includes artwork from children participating in the Arte di Bvlgari program, hosted in local school districts in Fresno and San Bernardino counties in California, and Harris County in Texas. Arte di Bvlgari offers children who would not normally have access to arts education the opportunity to express themselves through a wide variety of arts – including dance, sculpture, painting, visual arts and more. The program runs in conjunction with Save the Children’s existing literacy, math and youth enrichment programs after school, and engages local artists and experts from the community where the children live.

Led by Tamu McPherson, Digital Creator and Corporate Social Responsibility Ambassador for Bulgari, and supported by local art consultants in California and Texas, the World Children’s Day project asked participating children what a “World of Wonder” means to them, and then enabled them to creatively bring their ideas to life on canvas with watercolor.

“Creativity is important for children because it opens their minds and hearts, allowing them to use the imagination to create scenarios that bring positivity into their worlds,” says McPherson. “Working on this project alongside the students was super inspiring and it was an absolute joy to be in such a positive, caring, warm environment. The students’ unique visions of the world will make this project even more special than we ever imagined.”

Over 80 of these imaginative paintings have been integrated into four digital art collages by artist Helena Soubeyrand. Based in Paris, France, Soubeyrand, a visual artist known for her signature linear illustrations, merges the children’s art with her own vision to create four unique digital artworks, displayed at a World Children’s Day event at Bulgari’s San Francisco boutique on November 17. The event featured a robust panel discussion between Laura Burdese, Global CMO of Bulgari Group, Luciana Bonifacio, Chief Development Officer at Save the Children, and Tamu McPherson, digital creator and CSR Ambassador of Bulgari.

“Giving kids a creative outlet to express their feelings is so important to their overall well-being – it helps them develop self-confidence and self-awareness, reduce stress and build resilience,” said Luciana Bonifacio, Save the Children’s Chief Development Officer. “Save the Children is grateful to Bulgari North America for helping us bring art education and experiences to children who, otherwise, would not have that chance – and we are so excited to collaborate with them this World Children’s Day to further immerse kids in artistic expression and share their ‘World of Wonder.’"

“Bulgari North America is proud of our incredible partnership with Save the Children,” says Herve Perrot, President of Bulgari North America. “The arts are a key pillar of Bulgari’s identity, so supporting the arts through childhood education is a mission that is dear to the maison. Having raised more than $100 million to benefit more than 2 million children around the world, we look forward to continuing our efforts to create positive social change with at-risk youth and communities through our partnership with Save the Children.”

Ten percent of sales on November 20 from Bulgari’s U.S. retail network will be donated to benefit Save the Children’s Arte di Bvlgari program. Since the beginning of Bulgari’s partnership with Save the Children in 2009, sales from its iconic Save the Children jewelry collection has raised more than $100 million globally to support over 2.2 million children through education and enrichment, emergency response, youth empowerment and poverty reduction programs.
