
Save the Children Names Sarah Angel-Johnson as New CIO
Award-winning CIO brings human experiences powered by digital solutions to global movement for children
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (Oct. 8, 2020) — Save the Children U.S. announced today that Sarah Angel-Johnson will join the organization as chief information officer effective November 16. Angel-Johnson will report to COO Eric Howell and will oversee business-technology integrated strategy and solutions, IT operations, customer service, policy and planning, Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance in addition to building operations.

Angel-Johnson joins Save the Children from Year Up, where she also served as chief information officer, empowering young adults to reach their potential through careers and higher education. Prior to Year Up, Sarah transformed the $860 million Girl Scout Cookie Program by taking it digital, earning them recognition that included a place in Fast Company’s Top 10 Most Innovative Nonprofits. Before moving into nonprofit, Sarah was one of IBM’s youngest female executives where she honed her human-centered design and data-driven approach which she now leverages to deliver social impact at scale.

Angel-Johnson received her MBA from Cornell University and Bachelor of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In 2020, she was named Nonprofit CIO of the Year at the Boston CIO of the Year ORBIE® Awards. Angel-Johnson will be based in Save the Children’s Fairfield, Conn., office.
