Getting Children Ready for Success in School and Life

That first day of Kindergarten is a big step for kids, and without the right preparation, many children find themselves behind from the start, not ready emotionally, socially and developmentally.

Save the Children is proud to offer KinderBoost, a school readiness program helping kids and families familiarize themselves with their new school surroundings, while also immersing children in early learning activities.

About KinderBoost

Save the Children’s KinderBoost program connects future kindergarteners and their families with school teachers and staff, allowing them to spend time in their future classrooms and experience what a day in kindergarten is like. It also gives them the chance to meet some of their future classmates, so they feel more comfortable when that first day of school comes.

The 10-day program includes:

  • Skill-based learning centers focusing on math, literacy, fine motor skills and more
  • An in-school field trip
  • A family literacy event
  • Resources for families, including children’s books, school supplies and a backpack
  • A graduation celebration
