Help Us In the Fight Against Pneumonia!
Pneumonia is the leading infectious cause of death of children. Nearly 1 million children die from pneumonia every year — more than malaria, HIV/AIDS and measles combined.
World Pneumonia Day
In recognition of World Pneumonia Day, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation hosted a panel of experts, including our President & CEO Carolyn Miles, who spoke about pneumonia as the #1 killer of children under 5.
But they did more than speak. These thought leaders also generated a call to action to fund the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia — and reduce preventable deaths of children under 5 by 2030.
Our Work in the Field
Most pneumonia deaths are preventable through protection, prevention, and treatment, which requires attention across a broad and integrated spectrum of care.
