Mother's Day

Maternal Health

Maria and Fatchima celebrate Mother's Day.

Celebrate the Strength of a Mother's Love

According to the World Health Organization, more than 300,000 women die each year from pregnancy and childbirth complications, while 5.9 million children die each year before their 5th birthday.

Read Fatchima's Story.

Every day, Save the Children works to improve maternal, newborn, infant and child health and survival in developing countries. The primary and most proven way we do this is by providing women and children with improved access to quality health care services.
