A special thanks to a volunteer who has been with Save the Children for 30 years, Bill Bangser.
National Volunteer Week was established in 1974, to recognize the importance of volunteering and service in everyday life. As a global non-profit, Save the Children values the hard work of our volunteers who have helped contribute to our organization's success. This week we are honored to recognize our dedicated volunteers who have helped make the world a better place for kids.
Bill has been a volunteer with Save the Children for 30 years. He began his involvement with the organization as a child sponsor for children in Nepal and Mexico. From there he became a full time volunteer in 1980 as the head of the Speakers Bureau, a group of volunteers that traveled to communities encouraging people to get involved. In the early 1990's he moved to a different department within the organization, volunteering with a program that manages grants, creates budgets and tracks expenses. He has remained an active volunteer since.
Bill has dedicated an impressive 30 years of service towards bettering the lives of children. He is a respected volunteer who has made a lasting impression on the organization. For National Volunteer Week, we are honored to recognize and thank Bill for his outstanding commitment to the organization throughout the years.
