GET READY...

Said, 1½ years-old from Kenya, was already small and weak from birth. Malnutrition put his health at greater risk. He was enrolled in the milk voucher project after he showed signs of hunger and malnutrition and now is showing signs of improvement.

Nearly 7 million children under the age of 5 die each year due to easily preventable diseases. When they do survive, children are sick due to lack of food, clean water and inadequate healthcare. Attending school is often impossible because parents live on less than one dollar each day. Even in America, nearly 1 in 4 children live in poverty, facing a future empty of hope.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Save the Children invests in childhood – every day, in times of crisis and for our future. In the United States and around the world, we are dedicated to ensuring every child has the best chance for success. Our pioneering programs give children a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. Our advocacy efforts provide a voice for children who cannot speak for themselves. As the leading expert on children, we inspire and achieve lasting impact for millions of the world’s most vulnerable girls and boys. By transforming children’s lives now, we change the course of their future and ours.

GET SET...

Run for Kids is a global fundraising movement in which teams of children in America and around the world are setting a goal to run a total of 5,000 miles, to help children in the world’s toughest places not only survive but also thrive.

Last year more than 20,000 children in over 40 countries participated in this event, running for each other and for children in need. This year you, your friends and family, school or group can join in on the fun and joy of this amazing, life-changing race.
