What jobs can be found at Save the Children?
Save the Children offers a large variety of career opportunities, based in our U.S. offices, in a number of U.S. field locations, as well as in certain international locations. Many of our staff work in our main program areas, such as: Child Protection and HIV/AIDs, Education and Child Development, Health and Nutrition, Hunger and Livelihoods, and U.S. Programs. Within these areas, employees support the implementation of programs for children around the world and advocate in support of child-focused programs and issues.

It takes a lot of different skill sets to make our work successful on a global scale, so we also have departments that focus on Marketing and Communications, Resource Development/Fundraising, Human Resources, Legal, Information Technology, Finance, Internal Audit, and other functions that directly impact the work of the organization.

Where are most U.S.-based jobs located?
The majority of our U.S.-based jobs are located in either our Fairfield, Connecticut, Washington, DC or Lexington, Kentucky offices. We also have a number of staff located across the United States that support our programs in those areas.

Where can I find out more about international job opportunities?
Save the Children U.S. hires for a limited number of international positions posted on our U.S. job listings page. You may also find other international opportunities within the Save the Children movement on Save the Children International’s website www.savethechildren.net/careers and on the websites of Save the Children’s other national member organizations. Links to those websites are available on the Save the Children International website above.

Does Save the Children offer Internship or Volunteer opportunities?
Absolutely! Save the Children offers unpaid internships and volunteer positions in our headquarters offices throughout the year. Our largest internship program takes place over the summer months, but we do offer internship opportunities during the fall and spring semesters. Applying for Jobs

What do I need to do to apply for a job?
All applicants need to create and complete a profile within our career website. We will not accept resumes submitted via any other method.

If I am interested in more than one position, should I apply to each separately?
Yes, you will need to apply to each position of interest separately. You may only be considered for the positions to which you have applied. This is actually an easy process once you have completed the online profile and have uploaded a resume – you will not need to re-enter the information for each position.

What can I expect after I apply for a position?
Once you apply for a position, you will receive an auto-generated confirmation that your application has been received. Because Save the Children is so fortunate to receive a large number of applications for each opening, only the most qualified applicants will be contacted to move forward with the interview process. If you are not contacted or selected for a position, we encourage you to check our Careers site frequently for new opportunities.

How do I update my profile?
Log in to the Careers section by going to the Previous Applicants section, located below the Search Openings page. This will bring up your previous application. You will be able to update the information and resubmit.
