You’ve heard of Utopia — an ideal world where everyone is happy and free. Well, Save the Children is part of WeTopia® an exciting new social game recently launched by our friends at Sojo Studios. Players, “We,” all work together to create our own online “Utopias” while making the real world a better place for children in the United States and around the world.

WeTopia features Save the Children and other charities to combine online communities and social games to fund real world projects ranging from building schools, clinics and libraries to building bright futures for kids with health, fitness, education, nutrition and other desperately needed programs.

The Fine Print

How Save the Children Supporters Can Play WeTopia

It’s fun and free to play WeTopia. All you have to do is log into Facebook, type “WeTopia” into the search field and accept the “app”. Once you start playing, you’ll create your own WeTopia including houses, shops, playgrounds, flowers, trees, pets, people and much more!

Invite your family and friends on Facebook. You’ll be able to visit their worlds as well (and see if they are keeping up with the “WeTopians”). To advance in the game, you’ll go on “Quests” such as planting a pumpkin patch, building a playground or visiting friends. When you complete your quests, you’ll earn credits in the game called Goodwill, Experience, Energy and Joy. Joy is an important feature of the game because it gives you voting power for your favorite projects — hopefully Save the Children’s projects — which are clearly marked with our logo.

How WeTopia Players Help Save the Children

Save the Children is a WeTopia charity partner where specific real-world projects and programs will be featured in the game for support from players and corporate sponsors. WeTopia generates money from corporate sponsors and advertisers, and from players who choose to spend money in the game. Whether you choose to spend money while playing WeTopia or not, you will be helping to make great things happen for children all around the world by raising awareness and giving joy to your favorite Save the Children projects.

The Fine Print

Players will not receive a tax deduction, as Sojo is a private company that cannot allocate tax deductions to game players. If you would like a tax deduction, you are welcome to donate directly to Save the Children outside of the game.
