Save the Children is the leading independent organization for children in need, with programs in over 120 countries, including the United States. We aim to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives by improving their health, education and economic opportunities. In times of acute crisis, we mobilize rapid assistance to help children recover from the effects of war, conflict and natural disasters. In 2010 we improved the lives of over 64 million children in need in the United States and around the world. Our goal is to reach more than 74 million children annually by the year 2012. In order to achieve this, we are actively looking for talented, motivated individuals to join us in making a difference in the lives of children worldwide.

Volunteers for Save the Children educate, advocate and fundraise for the organization from either our Westport, Connecticut or Washington, D.C. offices.

We highly value the myriad of contributions our volunteers make daily. There are a number of volunteer opportunities available in our Westport, Connecticut, and Washington D.C. offices for individuals looking to make a difference in the lives of children worldwide. Save the Children welcomes and encourages committed individuals to apply as volunteers within all levels of our organization. Volunteer opportunities range from short-term to long-term assignments. They are offered in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, finance, fundraising, marketing and communications, public policy, and social media, as well as, research and administrative work.

International Volunteers

Join a Global Service Trip and Volunteer to Help Children in Need

A global service trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to help children in need around the world and in the USA. Volunteer teams travel to Save the Children country offices bringing smiles to boys and girls while learning about our work.

During a week-long trip, you’ll learn about the challenges facing children in the region you’re visiting. You’ll also teach, play and have fun with the kids, sowing cultural exchange and growth for all!
