Success Stories

Whether it involves training the future leaders of Save the Children across the world, building new sanitation facilities in Pakistan or supplying needy mothers and babies with blankets, our diverse and unique corporate partners always find a way to help during times of crisis – and in our long-term renewal projects.

During the summer of 2008, when the worst flood in 50 years hit the Bihar state of India and earthquakes shook China to its core, the Target Foundation stepped in immediately to help set up our signature Child-friendly Safe Spaces so children could play and learn while their parents started to rebuild their lives. A year after the 2005 Tsunami struck Indonesia and the length of the rebuilding effort became clear, ExxonMobil marshaled its employees and affiliates to help build 10 schools and five health clinics in Aceh, giving hope and faith in the country’s renewal. And finally, corporate food companies, such as Green Mountain Coffee and Kraft, have found ways to improve long-term nutrition education in the countries where they work – efforts that have a snowball effect on all other the other problems facing these rural populations.

Some companies have stayed close to their missions in donating to Save the Children, choosing to keep their outreach themed; others have responded completely out of the box, filling in gaps least expected. Either way, all of Save the Children’s corporate partners can hold their contributions in the highest esteem, for they helped save the world’s most valuable resource: children.
