Pneumonia

Overview

  • Morbidity, mortality, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and control of pneumonia and other acute respiratory infections

Facilitation Notes

As part of the Child Health Module, this session contributes to a broader epidemiologic picture of under-5 health — focusing specifically on reducing pneumonia related deaths in emergencies. As a leading cause of death in children under 5 worldwide, and one of the 4 leading causes of death in emergencies, the case for early pneumonia detection and effective prevention is clearly outlined in this presentation. Presenters are encouraged to add country- or region-specific intervention or program examples, highlighting SC's role in pneumonia and TB response. Additional facilitation notes are included within the slides.

See the Pneumonia Summary Sheet for more information.
