Overview

  • Detection and prevention of epidemic meningitis

Facilitation Notes

As part of the Child Health Module, this session helps define the broader epidemiologic picture of under-5 health — why early meningitis detection and response is so important in emergency situations. Depending on the geographic context where this is being presented, this session may need to be expanded to adequately represent the epidemic threat in emergencies. Additional facilitation notes are included within the slides.

Timing

30 – 45 Minutes

Allow 15 – 30 minutes for presentation (depending on the region) and 15 minutes for questions/answers.
