Sit for Survival

Babysitters all across the country — ages 13 and older — can help moms around the world by foregoing a day's or evening’s earnings to support Save the Children’s Survive to 5 campaign.

If you are a babysitter interested in serving moms globally, follow the simple steps below! Your efforts can help Save the Children train community health workers to deliver lifesaving advice and care to women and children.

Sit for Survival Steps

More than half of these deaths could be prevented through low-cost health solutions. The problem is making these solutions available to families living in poor, remote communities.

  1. Talk to your parents!
Let them know you want to participate in this initiative. Click here to print out the Sit for Survival Toolkit which has all the information you’ll need – for you, your parents and your customers.

  2. Make appointments to babysit!
Make calls to your babysitting customers and let them know that you would like them to donate your pay to Survive to 5 . When you babysit, give them the flyer titled Customers which has all the information they need to make their donation.

  3. Get Service Hours!
If you are looking to get service hours for your babysitting, use the form in the kit titled Community Service Confirmation Record! and ask your customers to sign.

  4. Tell a friend!
and send this website to tell 5 of your friends how to help children Survive to 5!

  5. Mobilize your school!
Make copies of the flyer titled Babysitters and post it around your school or community to get others involved.

  6. Text 5 friends!
If you had a blast participating in Sit-In for Survival, text: www.savethechildren.org/sitin to your friends!

Thank you for participating in Sit for Survival! Your service will help mothers see their young children Survive to 5!
