Knit One, Save One

Dear Mr. President: Letters from the Knit One, Save One Campaign,  April 2009 ( PDF)

After Save the Children's State of the World's Mothers 2008 report highlighted simple, low-cost practices that could save newborn lives — like keeping a baby warm with a knit or crochet cap — Save the Children continued to receive numerous calls and e-mails from Americans around the country wanting to organize their friends and family to knit and crochet caps for newborns in developing countries. As a result of their enthusiasm, Save the Children partnered with the Warm Up America Foundation to launch Knit One, Save One. Read how thousands of people knitted and crocheted caps to help save lives.

State of the World's Mothers

Every year, our State of the World's Mothers report reminds us of the inextricable link between the well-being of mothers and that of their children. Each year a different issue that impacts mothers and their children is highlighted. The reports listed below cover child survival issues.
