Responding to Emergencies
There is little time to waste when responding to a sudden-onset emergency. Save the Children relief efforts can be mounted within hours in regions where we work, and within 72 hours in those we do not – the time when children’s survival is often in question and when public support has not been galvanized. In order to achieve this quick response, three things are needed: staff, equipment and funds. Save the Children has established a reliable system that makes a quality rapid response possible.

When Save the Children needs to mobilize equipment, materials, supplies, and other items, Quick-Go Kits allow for a quick start:
- Quick-Go Communication Kit — Save the Children logo items to aid our professional staff for credibility and raising awareness on the ground;
- Quick-Go Office-in-a-Box Kit — with general office supplies such as a fax machine, adaptors, collapsible tables and chairs, and stationery;
- Quick-Go Staff Support Kit — with items needed for personal survival of staff such as tents, sleeping bags, cooking utensils and a first-aid kit.
You can help Save the Children respond to emergencies that put at great risk the survival, protection, and well-being of significant numbers of children. By contributing to the Children’s Emergency Fund, you enable us to respond immediately to children and families who urgently need our help when disasters strike.
