Band From TV Releases New DVD/CD Benefitting Save the Children

New Release Rockets to the Top 10 on Amazon

WESTPORT, Conn. (Oct. 31, 2008) — Shoppers looking for a 'gift that gives back' this holiday season, are adding the Band From TV's new DVD/CD "Hoggin All the Covers" to their holiday shopping lists.

The Band From TV, featuring Hugh Laurie ("House"), James Denton ("Desperate Housewives"), Greg Grunberg ("Heroes") Bob Guiney ("The Bachelor") and Bonnie Somerville released the new DVD/CD on October 26, and the disc has already rocketed to the top of the charts on Amazon.

The majority of proceeds, after production costs are covered, will go to six causes selected by band members, including Save the Children, Hugh Laurie's charity of choice.

"I've been involved with Save the Children most of my life," says Laurie. "If they were a band, they'd be Led Zeppelin."

Save the Children works in more than 50 countries including the U.S. and serves more than 41 million children and 25 million adults working to save and improve children's lives, including parents, community members, local organizations and government agencies.

"We're grateful to Hugh Laurie and his band mates for showcasing their musical talents and putting on a great show on their new DVD for charity. Funds raised through the DVD promotion will allow Save the Children to reach even more children in need in the United States and around the world," said Charles MacCormack, president and CEO of Save the Children.
