Save the Children Appoints New Vice President of Leadership Giving
Westport, CT (January 4, 2008) — Save the Children today announced the appointment of Anne-Marie K. Grey as the new vice president of Leadership Giving. Grey most recently served as Chief of International and Corporate Alliances in the Private Sector Division of UNICEF. In her new role, she will lead and expand Save the Children's U.S. and global fundraising initiatives.
"Anne-Marie is a valuable addition to Save the Children," said Charles MacCormack, president and CEO of Save the Children. "She has a proven track record for growing non-profit revenues in creative ways. We believe that her expertise in the areas of marketing, fundraising and strategic partnerships will help expand Save the Children's income so we can reach even more children in need in the U.S. and globally."
Grey joins Save the Children from UNICEF and the United States Fund for UNICEF, where she has held two executive positions over the past eight years. In her most recent role as the Chief, International and Corporate Alliances for the Private Sector Division at UNICEF, she designed and managed global partnerships and grew corporate revenues five fold. Grey led initiatives to develop new methods of engaging the corporate sector in the issues confronting the world's most vulnerable children. These initiatives included public and private partnerships with companies such as Procter&Gamble and Unilever to improve household water supplies and create hygiene campaigns and innovative Corporate Social Responsibility programs.
Grey joined the U.S. Fund for UNICEF as Vice President of Marketing and Development in 2000, where she spearheaded the organization's corporate partnerships, launched international fundraising campaigns for girls' education initiatives in Afghanistan and mobilized resources for maternal and neo-natal tetanus programs. Grey also re-launched UNICEF's Trick-or-Treat program throughout the United States, creating cause-related marketing and youth volunteer service initiatives.
"I am delighted to join Save the Children," said Anne-Marie Grey. I have long admired the work of Save the Children worldwide. I look forward to leveraging my experience in raising resources and awareness for children's issues with Save the Children's programming and advocacy expertise to save even more children's lives here in the US and overseas. I can't think of a greater opportunity."
Prior to UNICEF and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, Grey was the director of Creative Enterprises and Marketing for Share Our Strength, a national non-profit organization that focuses on ending hunger in the U.S. and globally. Through her leadership, Grey attracted a record number of new partnerships for the organization, and expanded existing cause-related marketing programs, generating millions more dollars in profit for the organization.
Grey began her career in Australia, leading the marketing, fundraising and partnership efforts at the National Gallery of Australia and National Museum of Australia. She also co-founded two consulting firms specializing in developing strategic alliances between the private sector and non-profit organizations.
Grey completed graduate programs in strategic marketing and management and public administration at the Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and Monash Mt Eliza, Victoria and bachelor and graduate degrees from Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. She is a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and has been awarded the Australian Certified Fund Raising Executive credential. Grey is an international presenter on Corporate Social Responsibility, philanthropy and sponsorship marketing and has co-authored The Sponsorship Seeker's Toolkit and The Sponsor's Toolkit, published by McGraw-Hill.
