Save the Children Partners With Keystone Fundraising

Westport, CT (August 1, 2005) – Save the Children recently partnered with Keystone Fundraising, an international fundraising company providing services to nonprofit organizations throughout Europe. In an effort to increase awareness and support of Save the Children’s programs in more than 40 countries, including the United States, Keystone will launch a door-to-door campaign in the greater New York City area on August 22, 2005.

“The door-to-door fundraising campaign is an exciting new way for us to build relationships with our donors,” said Denise Kuendig, AVP of Sponsor Marketing and Entry Level Donors for Save the Children. “By bringing information about our mission and our work directly to the donors, we are able to reach individuals we might miss through advertising and many other forms of direct response marketing.”

Keystone will send teams of fundraisers to canvass neighborhoods in and around New York City this summer and fall. “These are highly-trained, articulate professionals who adhere to the highest ethical standards,” says Vanessa Montes, Manager of Media Relations and Communications of Keystone Fundraising. “Our door-to-door approach may be new to the United States , but it has been a successful marketing technique in Western Europe for the past decade, helping to secure long-term donors who are committed to an organization’s mission.”

“We want the public and our supporters to be engaged and informed,” said Charles MacCormack, President and CEO of Save the Children. “Through door-to-door fundraising, we are able to interact with individuals on a more personal level and can truly begin to formulate long-lasting relationships. Our Save the Children Alliance partners in Europe have had success with this approach, and it is my hope that our Keystone ‘ambassadors’ will also be well-received in this country.”

Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating real and lasting change for children in need in the United States and around the world. It is a member of the International Save the Children Alliance, comprising 27 national Save the Children organizations working in more than 110 countries to ensure the well-being of children.
