Save the Children Baby Shower

TV series HOUSE stars throw first Save the Children Share Your Joy Baby Shower!

Lisa Edelstein, star of the Fox TV series House, hosted the first Save the Children Share Your Joy Baby Shower at the Beverly Hills home of co-host Executive Producer, Katie Jacobs.  Cast-mate Jennifer Morrison joined in the celebration for the House costume designer, Cathy Crandall, who had a baby girl in November 2007.

The baby shower raised $11,000, most of which will fund the training of commmunity health workers to diagnose and treat common illnesses in babies and young children in Nicaragua.  As part of Save the Children’s Survive to 5 initiative, community health workers, or brigadistas as they’re called locally, provide essential health care to children whose families cannot access hospitals or health centers.  They work closely with Nicaragua’s Ministry of Health to promote health education and rapid response to children in need of urgent medical attention.
