Save the Children Baby Shower

Why Throw a Save the Children Baby Shower?

Preparing for the birth or adoption of a child is a joy that transcends any geographical, cultural or religious differences mothers around the world may have.  We all share the simple joys of imagining the baby’s face, feeling the first kick, experiencing hiccups en utero, or playing the name game.  As mothers, we are bound by our experience, brought together by our hope for a healthy, happy child whom we can watch grow and develop.

We are truly united in our motherhood and it is the joy that comes from this experience that we can share by helping to provide essential mother-baby health care to those less fortunate than us.

Many women in developing countries deliver their babies alone or with family members who are ill-equipped to manage any complications.  Sometimes parents don’t recognize life-threatening illnesses in young children until it is too late for simple treatments to work.  We could save more than 6 million of the 10 million children who die every year if we just shared the simple knowledge and resources we have with those who have less.

Together we can make a difference and share the joy that comes from knowing our children will survive.

Hosting a Save the Children Baby Shower is a great way to get involved and make a difference.  Share the joy of your baby shower by helping us reach more mothers and babies who need help.
