Idol Gives Back to Africa’s Children
![]() |
Generous donations from Idol Gives Back viewers are being used to improve the lives and well-being of thousands of children living in poverty in Ethiopia, Guinea, Mali, Mozambique, Sudan and Uganda.
Idol Gives Back is supporting Save the Children's
Survive to 5 initiative, which is reducing common and preventable illnesses, like pneumonia and diarrhea, that are the leading causes of death for children under age 5.
In addition, these donations are helping to provide early educational support to Africa's most at-risk children, with a particular focus on children orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS. To improve the health and school attendance of children, Save the Children is helping ensure that children in school have clean water, sanitation facilities and health services.
In Ethiopia, Idol Gives Back donations are going to the children of Ennat Early Childcare Development Center, located in a community where most families earn just $1 to $2 per day.
