Take Action for Children

You can speak out for children in need by clicking on the links below to take action on current critical issues affecting children.

Tell Congress to Support More Funding for Early Childhood Development Programs in the U.S. and developing countries around the world.
Early childhood education is a proven investment in economic prosperity, social development and the survival and well-being of children and their families. Yet alarming numbers of children are at risk of failure in primary school — both in the United States and overseas. Please tell your Senators and Representative to ensure early childhood development programs are amply funded both at home and abroad.

Tell Congress to Save the Lives of Children & Mothers
Every year, over 9 million children under five die from preventable and treatable diseases. They're not dying from mysterious, incurable diseases, but from diarrhea, pneumonia, malnutrition and other causes that would be unthinkable in our own country. Please tell your Representative in Congress to support the newly introduced Newborn, Child and Mother Survival Act of 2009 (H.R. 1410), which would provide millions of children and mothers with a better chance at survival through expansion of basic health care measures and services.

MFAN Open Letter to Obama

Join Save the Children in its Effort to Enhance and Improve Our Nation's Foreign Assistance Policies
Save the Children, alongside a significant group of more than 140 businesses, non-profits, and former leaders from the government and the U.S. military, endorsed a letter to President Obama and Congress urging them to "make modernization of our foreign assistance programs a priority… [and] make global development a co-equal pillar of U.S. foreign policy alongside defense and diplomacy."

YOU CAN TOO! The open letter was developed by the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network (MFAN) and published as an advertisement in the Politico newspaper. It was released on March 17th, 2009 to show President Obama, his advisors, and Members of Congress that strong individual, institutional, and grassroots support exists for their unprecedented efforts to elevate global development. Show your support by going to MFAN's website to sign on to the letter and download a badge to post on your website, blog or social networking profile.
