As a company, Starbucks has made helping children in coffee-farming communities in Guatemala a priority. For more than a year, Starbucks partners have joined in the effort by raising money for the Starbucks Guatemala Education Initiative — an initiative to bring quality bilingual education to children in the rural highlands of Guatemala. These extraordinary efforts are helping to create book corners, libraries and playgrounds.
In addition to their own donations, partners can contribute in two additional ways: for gifts to the program of at least $20, partners can request matching funds through Starbucks Choose to Give! program, or partners can volunteer individually or as a team through Make Your Mark.
