Save the Children has teamed up with Scholastic to challenge kids worldwide to read for fun, for a team and for a good cause. The Scholastic Summer Challenge is the number one online source for summer reading. Throughout the summer, children 8 and up can log on to www.scholastic.com/summer to read, play educational games and learn how they can help children in need.

No girl should miss school just because she is a girl. But the reality is that many girls in the developing world begin to miss up to 5 days of school each month when they begin menstruating, because they don’t have access to puberty education, adequate sanitary protection or sanitary facilities. This repeated absenteeism can result in girls falling behind in their studies, and often, contributes to girls dropping out of school all together.
