Every year, more than 10 million children die before they reach the age of 5, most from preventable causes and almost all in poor countries. This year's State of the World's Mothers report shows which countries are succeeding — and which are failing — to save the lives of mothers and children. It examines the investments in health care and nutrition that make a difference for children, families and society as a whole. It also points to proven, low-cost solutions that could save the majority of these young lives. Download the State of the World's Mothers Report 2007
