Message: (Why not personalize this message to make them really sit up and listen) Send this page to a friend	Dear President Bush, On May 2nd, representatives from many of the world's wealthiest countries will meet in Brussels to discuss a long unrecognized casualty of war and conflict – the education of children. More than half of the 77 million children who do not attend school today live in conflict-affected countries. Most donor nations prioritize education assistance to more stable countries over those affected by conflict, leaving millions of children in war-torn countries with little hope of breaking the cycle of poverty and conflict, despite pledges from donor countries to ensure that every child receives an education by 2015. There is currently a $9 billion funding gap that is the difference between giving every child the chance to go to school by 2015 and leaving millions behind. We urge your representative at this critical meeting to commit to end the funding gap by 2008 and ensure that all new education aid commitments from the U.S. Government prioritize conflict-affected countries. Education is essential to protecting children during conflict and to rebuilding nations in the aftermath. It is a key to alleviating poverty and reducing the risks of perpetual conflict by helping lay the groundwork for personal growth, economic growth and political development. Please help children in war zones, and their countries, face a brighter future. Sincerely,
