Take Action for Children
You can speak out for children in need by clicking on the links below to take action on current critical issues affecting children.
Tell your Members of Congress to support increases for critical programs to help children worldwide
The United States has made — and can continue to make — a critical difference in the lives of vulnerable families by implementing programs that save millions of children, open doors for millions more to get an education, and help millions recover from natural disasters and conflicts. This life-saving work takes both leadership and funding, which comes from the U.S. International Affairs Budget that represents less than one percent of all federal funding. Members of both the Senate and House of Representatives are currently sponsoring a sign-on letter urging President-elect Obama to support a robust U.S. International Affairs Budget in his FY2010 Budget Request to Congress. Ask your Members of Congress to sign onto this important letter encouraging essential funding to protecting our national security, promoting America’s economic prosperity, and demonstrating our humanitarian values around the world.
Write the President-elect to Support Child Survival
As part of Save the Children's new campaign to save newborn lives, called Knit One, Save One, you can write the President-elect. Tell him that you want America to lead the way and support funding for newborn survival.
Tell Congress to Support Children's Health
Every year, 10 million children under five die from preventable and treatable diseases. They're not dying from mysterious, incurable diseases, but from diarrhea, pneumonia, malnutrition and other causes that would be unthinkable in our own country. Please tell your representatives in Congress to support the Global Child Survival Act.
